What are some fun high activity games to play with children at camp?
I am a camp counselor this summer and at this specific camp, each counselor for each different themed camp gets a schedule for each week. The only boxes on the schedule that are filled in for you are Lunch time, Pool time and Special activity time. All the other boxes for that day are blank and the counselor is in charge of picking what the children will do for the remaining hours of the day. I just need some suggestions of good games to play with the kids so i know i will not have a moment that i do not know what to do with them. any game will do!
I'm going to give you a link to a place called the Ultimate Camp Resource. It's helped me a ton--especially when I worked my way up and had to train other counselors.
It's an interesting camp that doesn't schedule a bunch of activities for the campers. What about canoeing, arts and crafts, horseback riding, or archery? Those are camp staples. I also enjoy doing hikes with the campers, snake hunts (only if you know what you're doing), outdoor survival skills, riflery, sports, etc. Also, make sure they get a little rest time each day. They may not want it, but camp is a high activity place where they're going going going in the heat and it's easy to get exhausted.
