my 10 month old FREAKED out!?
ok, so, my son this morning, is in his walker, eating some animal crackers, and my phone rings, so i step out side so i can hear, and he starts to SCREAM his head off, he rams the door with the walker, throws his crackers all over the floor and just completely looses it! i was shocked! i have never seen my child act like that! what could have caused this?... he wasnt alone, someone was in the house with him... in the same room so he knew they were there, what can i do about that?
i CANNOT have my child spazzing EVERYTIME i leave the house! im a working mom and im due to have another baby in 29 days,.
do u think he might know the baby is coming and he is maybe feeling neglected?
i spend ALL free time with him, he even occasionally sleep with me at nap time, maybe he is getting to attached?
i dont know what to do with him,
has anyone else expierenced something like this so young? i thought that akward clingy stage was kinda far away for us.
sounds like he's reached the age of seperation anxiety. This stage will come and go quickly so long as you keep doing exactly what you are doing. He's realizing for the first time that he and mummy are seperate people. Once he works out that this is perfectly normal and actually to his own advantage, he'll stop freaking out and you'll probably spend most of your free time trying to find him!
he should out grow this stage just as your newborn is due, do make sure he gets lots of one-on-one time with his mummy and everything will be fine.
there is also a chance that maybe something else happened, and it's just a co-incidence -- like maybe he bit is tongue or something? Life would be a lot easier if it was just a co-insidence wouldn't it?
Ways to help him with seperation anxiety -
- don't just disapear -- tell him when you are leaving the room, and then do it (even if he gets grizzly) just say "you're okay, ____ is here will you. I'll b back in a minute or two" and go. if you do this with confidence, he'll develop his confidence quickly.
- play a LOT of peek-a-boo!!! When you are in the next room -- keep popping into view with a "boo!" he'll know you are nearby and that he's safe, and he'll have fun too. Plus it's a good chance to keep an eye on him lol
