has anybody in here tried the YOUR BABY CAN READ system?
It looks like it could really help a toddler learn to read, but I don't want to spend the money if it doesn't work.
I agree with everyone about one on one reading and time with the toddler to learn. I do this everyday and enjoy it. I was just curious about it being another fun way to add to his learning. Thanks everyone.
I agree with the first answer. Besides, is there a reason your toddler needs to learn to read right now? The second response is right that statistically most early readers lose any advantage pretty early as their later-starting peers catch up (the exception being natural early readers who learn on their own without anyone making an effort to teach them). So there's no long-term advantage of teaching it now. And in the short-term, wouldn't your toddler be happier using that time listening to you tell a good story (harder than they'd be able to read to themselves in any event) or learning to do puzzles or build towers or stand on one foot than they would working on phonemes? There's plenty of time for that later.
