Moms, why buy new?
My friend suggested a second hand store in a wealthy neighborhood to me that buys and sells gently used kids stuff. I went there this morning and as I walked around I began to wonder why moms would buy many items new for such inflated prices when you could get top of the line items for less money. Example: I bought the Graco pack n play at Walmart for $85.00. In this store was a fully loaded, gorgeous Eddie Bauer pack n play for $45.00. It look brand new. I have a basic high chair I bought for $25.00, they had convertible, durable, really well thought out high chair for babies that "changes" as your child grows for $20.00. Again. Like new. So, would you shop at a very picky second hand store that only accepted items that were close to new? Or, does the idea of germs of another baby bother you too much? I certainly wouldn't buy a used crib mattress. But highchair, pack n play, exersaucer, baby einstein dvds (they were $5.00 each). See my point? Would you buy used?
Nothing wrong with that, I have bought used.
$5 Baby Einstein DVD, great deal (my daughter loves those).
To add to that, garage sales are great.
My father in law just bought a toy (a dinosaurs toy with pop up balls) at a garage sale for $1, I saw it at the toy store for $40! He cleaned it up and it looks brand new.
