Can anyone recomend a child friendly camera?
I have had a look at the V tech and the fisher price but the reviews are really poor.
Needs to be digital
well... if you're willing to pay some good money for one... sealife makes some rugged cameras:

from $175-200 theses take pretty good pictures and water and shock proof. plus you can use it if you ever want to take some under water pictures.
also Olympus makes a line of "tough" cameras:

digital cameras that take quality picutures are delicate devices... so to make them stand up to abusive handling...it doesnt come cheap to do the job.
all in all...you can buy a cheap $100 camera...that will most likely break after just a drop or two ...then have to replace it...or spend about 70-100 more and get one that will last a good long time.
