I had a stillborn baby and now I feel like I could never love another baby?
I'm 16 and three months ago I gave birth to a stillborn baby boy. I feel like I just had so much love built up for him that I could never love another baby that much. I told my mom that, and she said that's a horrible thing to say.
Is that normal, to not feel like I could ever love another baby that much? Or am I being selfish?
I am so sorry for your loss hun. Your feelings are normal and you are not being selfish. 3 months is nothing. You still need much more time to heal from such a traumatic and heartbreaking loss. You will not feel this way forever. One day you will go on to have a healthy baby that you will love more than anything. But there will always be a spot in your heart only for the son you lost. It's all so fresh right now that I wouldn't even think about future children. Just focus on getting through the loss of your baby now. Maybe see a counselor, or start a journal. You could make a garden in his honor. Anything that you feel will help you heal from such a loss like this. I had a stillborn son too and it was the most painful thing I have ever been through. I did go on to have a healthy baby, but it took awhile before I was even ready to think about trying again. Good luck and take care of yourself. Best wishes.
