Twilight by Stephenie Meyer?
Before I go and bother to read it, can you give me your honest opinion about it?
I heard from some people that it is like the MOST AWESOMEST BOOK EVA!!! (quote from a friend X_X) and from some people that it sucked: the plot was cliche and the characters were nothing but mary-sues and gary-stus.
And does Bella really say how beautiful Edward is every page and a half?
Yep... Mary Sue to the max. The book is cliche - dull and boring. Kluzy new girl in town meets hunky guy whose family happens to be vampires. Yes, she does say on every page how beautiful he is. And they say really neat, romantic things to each other like "You're exactly my brand of heroin." (Gags) Oh yes and I forgot - when the hunky vampire goes out in the sun - he sparkles. Real men don't sparkle, hon.
If your friend described it in those terms, that should be enough to indicate you 1) need smarter friends (stick with the ones who say it sucked) and 2) shouldn't bother with the book. You seem more intelligent. Pax-C
