Give me suggestion of ways to bond with my 8 year old daughter?
She is VERY smart and loves to read. She does like those places where you make your own bead necklaces and pottery. She also starts girl scouts in 2 weeks and I'll be helping out there. I am looking for other ideas on how we can bond because we're not very close, and I WANT to be.
I dont want EATING ideas, because I dont want her to have food issues like I do since thats all my mom took me out to do. (Emotional eating).
Inexpensive ideas are best.

Try baking together - my daughter used to love to make cookies and muffins with me.
Take her with you to buy some beads and you can make gifts for people for Christmas together.
Go swimming together
Buy a kite and fly it at the park
Look at old photo albums and make a Scrapbook together
It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you are together and you tell her what an amazing kid she is.
