My 2 1/2yr. old bites her nails to the quick!?
She never took a pacifier but she loved her bottle(broke her a year ago). She has always seemed to have a major oral fixation on one thing though. The tops of medicine droppers, ever since I gave her one at 2 months old she loved it! Now she has not chewed on one of those in close to 8 months,...she has turned to her poor little finder nails. all day long her fingers are in her mouth. I gently ask her to get her hands out of her mouth, say "yuck", or push her hand down. No kidding, it is ALL day! I don't know how to get her to stop. They bleed and hurt daily. I probably should'nt have, but I have started to try and keep extra straws around and in the truck so I can hand her that to chew on instead of her nails, but not sure if that is a good idea.
Aside from those things that you paint on her nails(I don't want her to rub her eyes and it burn), what else can I do? My 3rd kid and I don't have a problem with the others...help!

my daughter also had a mouth fixation and after a couple weeks of this she slowly stopped putting things in her mouth
you said something about painting her nails with that nasty stuff have you thought about actual nail polish??
