Why is my dog pulling blankets out of my daughter's crib?
Hello
I have a 3 year old shepherd lab cross, and as of recently, he has been taking blankets from my 13 month old daughter's crib, and bringing them onto his own doggy bed. Sometimes he rips holes in them, other times he just takes them out. We have no idea why he is doing this, because it only just started. Does anyone have any ideas on why he is doing this? I thought that maybe there could be milk on the blankets, but even newly washed blankets are being stolen.
Any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!
He is either just bored and needs some entertainment (so buy him some new toys) or he just wants a comfier bed. Maybe buy him his own dog blanket that is soft and let him use it in his bed. Or just give him some old towels and see if that works. If nothing helps maybe he just has some excess energy, so take him on a longer walk or something everyday or play fetch with him in the backyard to get some of his energy out. Good luck!
Also he could be jelous of the baby. Make sure you are giving him attention and try to associate the baby with good things. Like give him treats when you have the baby out or something.
