At what age do babies start playing with toys?
I have pretty much everything bought for my baby except toys... It's our first child so I'm not sure what kind of toys, if any, babies play with. I have a thing that goes on the car seat like a mobile type thing that wraps around the handle, and rattles with teethers, and a jumperoo with toys on it etc, but I don't have any actual toys... when do babies start playing with actual toys? 6+ months? Or is there toys babies play with earlier then that? Just wondering what kind of things to buy our baby to play with 
My son started playing with his toys at 3 months. We bought these little link things at walmart. We hooked them onto his carseat and onto his baby gym and he batted at them and held onto them and chewed them like crazy! A baby gym is good too. Rattles that are easy to hold onto, teethign toys, anything that makes noise. By 6 months he liked things he could sit up with, like balls that are easy to hold onto, wooden spoons, stacking toys (he didn't actually stack them, just played with it), stuffed animals, a wind chime, an old ensure bottle with beans in it (his favorite toy still at 10 months, hahahaha), a musical book, he LOVES chewing on board books, gosh anything really. Just go down the baby aisle and you'll see tons of toys. At 9 months he started liking his walker car thing. It's a little car that he can ride. I got it at sears. He also likes stacking cups and tennis balls, musical balls, and beach balls and basket balls and footballs (seeing a patter?), and golf balls... anything that he can throw or roll. He likes old CD's, the CD player, Kitchen supplies, his teething book, a musical laptop thing, waterbottles filled halfway with water, measuring cups, and of course anything dangerous or gross. Babies aren't too picky with toys. They just like playing with anything and everything they can get their hands on!!!
