What is wrong with my Yellow Labrador?
My Yellow lab's name is Lexi.
Lately she has been having really bad diarrhea.
So we changed her dog food to lamb instead of beef because we heard that beef causes diarrhea.
Now her diarrhea isnt as bad as it was.
But now her butt is extremely fire red and she has been rubbing her butt across the grass as if it is really hurting her. i dont want to take her to the vet unless it can be extremely serious so please help me figure out what to do about her, if you need more info just ask!
She has had diarreah for the past 3-4 days. i wish i could take her to the vet, but my parents wont get it through their heads something is wrong. I think that i will find a way to convince them. thank you everyone for your advice, i will definately try to convince them what may be going on! THANK YOU!!
First, you should take her to the vet. She may have worms or some other type of problem which can only be treated by the vet. Also, continuing diarrhea can cause small bleeding in the stomach that eventually can lead to even more serious problems.
At least call your vet and ask if there is anything you can do to help. You may also want to get something to put on her little behind. I'm sure it's painful.. try prep H (what is good for humans externally is also good for dogs) This helps swelling and helps the burning.
